Sodium dichromate

Properties: red to orange red, slightly hygroscopic;

Characteristic:loss of crystalline water at 100℃,begin to decompose at about 400℃;it is soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, and acidic in aqueous solution;The pH of 1% aqueous solution is 4, the pH of 10% aqueous solution is 3.5, and has strong oxidizing property;

Density:2.348;

Melting point:356.7℃(anhydrous);

Boiling point(℃):400(anhydrous);

Application:

  1. Chromic anhydride,potassium dichromate,ammonium dichromate,salt based chromium sulfate,lead chrome yellow,copper chrome red,soluble chrome yellow,chromium oxide green and so on:raw material;
  2. Basic blue dye, saccharin, synthetic camphor and synthetic fiber:oxidant;
  3. Pharmaceutical industry: amine benzene sulfone, benzocaine, folic acid, rivanol (oxidant) etc;
  4. Dyeing and printing industry: aniline dyestuff oxidant, post treatment agent for sulphur reducing dye dyeing, mordant dyestuff in acid mordant dyeing;
  5. Leather Industry: leather tanning agent;
  6. Electroplating industry: passivation treatment after galvanizing;
  7. Glass industry: Green colorants.
